Use What You Got, Kiddo!

What happens when teachers do all the work while kids just sit and listen?  Whoever decided that straight desks and quiet kids were conducive to learning evidently did not know that the brain is at work at all times.  Children need to move to learn and be allowed to use their knowledge to acquire knowledge AND experiences from their experiences.
If you are a teacher, please allow your kids to ACTIVELY participate in daily lessons; do not allow them to fade in the background while you are the one who can barely make it out the door from exhaustion.  Get those children moving, get their blood flowing and allow the kids to use what they have…Their Brains!

  1. Wow! Interested video. At least it showed us how to incorporate movement into a learning experience. More of that would be great. I agree teaching has changed and doing the same old thing is not working.

  2. I agree ---sitting still for long lectures is the best sedative in the world....but we also need some time for quiet reflection. Along with activity we need time for processing of information and new knowledge.
